1. Scope and privacy contact
PodMagi, operated from Québec, Canada, is responsible for the personal information it collects through this website, inquiries, accounts and service administration. This policy is written under Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (“Law 25”) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). The Legal Notice gives the operator’s details.
Person in charge of the protection of personal information: the PodMagi Privacy Officer. Send questions and requests to support@podmagi.com, call +1 (514) 838-2128 or write to 80 Rue des Sept Sommets, La Conception, QC J0T 1M0, Canada.
For personal information within customer media, the customer normally determines the purpose of processing and PodMagi acts as its service provider on documented instructions under the Data Processing Agreement.
2. Information we collect and why
We collect only the information needed for the purposes below and we do not sell personal information.
- Inquiries: name, email, subject and message to respond to you; the contact handler also records the sending IP address and time for abuse prevention.
- Accounts: email, account name, credentials and session information to create and secure access. Passwords should never be sent through the contact form.
- Customer media: uploaded video, audio, images, transcripts, style references and generated outputs, including any people appearing in them, to perform requested editing.
- Billing: order, invoice and payment-status details to administer a subscription and meet legal obligations; payment handling depends on the provider presented at checkout.
- Email updates: your email address and your express consent to receive electronic messages from PodMagi. Each message identifies PodMagi and includes an unsubscribe mechanism, and you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
- Technical data: connection details and necessary browser storage to deliver pages, maintain sessions and protect the service. External asset providers receive connection data when their resources are requested.
3. Consent and lawful purposes
We collect and use personal information for the purposes stated in this policy. We rely on your consent, which must be clear, free, informed and given for specific purposes, or on a situation where the law allows use without consent, such as performing a contract you requested, meeting legal obligations, securing the website and preventing abuse. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions; we explain the consequences when you do.
Marketing messages and any non-essential tracking require a separate express choice. Required form fields enable us to respond or provide account access; without them the requested action cannot be completed. Customer-media processing relies on the customer’s lawful instructions, not a blanket consent inferred from uploading. We do not use technology on this website to profile or geolocate you.
4. Service providers and transfers outside Québec
Authorized personnel and contracted service providers may handle personal information for hosting, account authentication, email delivery, payments and requested AI processing. Providers currently used by this website include a managed account-authentication service (Supabase-based, accessed through the Readdy platform), Google Fonts, Cloudflare’s cdnjs (icon font) and Readdy asset hosting (some images and videos). We may disclose information where legally required. A current provider list, processing locations and safeguards can be requested from the Privacy Officer.
A Québec business address does not mean every server is in Québec or Canada. Some providers may store or process information outside Québec, including in the United States. Before communicating personal information outside Québec, we assess the sensitivity of the information, the purposes, the safeguards and the legal framework of the destination, and we rely on written agreements with providers. The provider and transfer schedule must be confirmed before customer-media processing; we do not claim Canadian-only hosting.
5. Retention and destruction
Inquiries are retained while the request is handled and for the period needed to resolve a related dispute. Account data is kept while access is required, then destroyed or anonymized except for legally required records. Billing and accounting records follow the retention duties of Canadian and Québec tax and commercial law. Email-update details are kept while you choose to receive updates, with limited evidence of consent or unsubscription kept as the law requires.
Customer-media retention, return, deletion and backup expiry must be documented in the customer’s processing schedule before processing starts. On termination, personal information in media is returned or destroyed as instructed, except where law requires retention. This policy does not promise instant deletion from backups or a universal 30-day retention period.
6. Your rights
Under Québec and Canadian law you may request access to your personal information and correction of information that is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal; withdraw your consent; ask us to stop disseminating your information or to de-index it where the legal conditions are met; and receive computerized personal information you provided in a structured, commonly used technological format, or have it sent to another organization. If a decision is made exclusively by automated processing, you may be informed of it and submit observations.
Send requests to the Privacy Officer using the details above. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity, and we respond in writing within 30 days of receiving your request. For media controlled by a customer, contact that customer or ask us to forward your request.
If you are not satisfied, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca). You do not need to contact us first.
7. AI, security and browser storage
AI assists editing and does not replace your review. These website services do not use decisions based exclusively on automated processing about you. Customer-specific style training is distinct from shared-model training, which requires a separate explicit opt-in.
We apply security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. We keep a register of confidentiality incidents and, where an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned as the law requires. The Trust Centre describes the scope of our statements without claiming unverified certifications. The Cookie Policy explains browser storage and optional tracking choices.
The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 14 without the consent of the person with parental authority.
8. Updates and contact
We will update this policy when processing materially changes and provide additional notice where required. The current version is always published on this page.
